Sarah Macdonald Diary 1

Dear Diary,

It’s been three weeks since we lost contact with Earth. The atmosphere here on LV-426 is tense, to say the least. I can’t shake this feeling of dread that’s been hanging over me since we found that derelict ship out in the Ilium Range.

Yesterday, little Timmy Jorden came running into the mess hall, screaming about his dad. Poor kid was hysterical. Turns out Russ Jorden, Timmy’s father, had some kind of… creature attached to his face when they brought him in. Doc Ling says he’s never seen anything like it. The thing’s got acid for blood – burned right through the floor of the med bay when they tried to remove it.

Most of the colonists are trying to go about their daily routines, but you can see the fear in their eyes. We’re all on edge, jumping at every little noise. The company said they’d send someone to check on us, but who knows how long that’ll take?

I keep thinking about that ship we found. There was something… wrong about it. Like it didn’t belong here. And now, with what happened to Russ, I can’t help but wonder if we’ve stumbled onto something we weren’t meant to find.

The nights are the worst. The wind howls across the colony, making these eerie sounds that set everyone on edge. Some folks swear they’ve heard strange noises coming from the air vents, but maintenance says it’s just the pipes settling.

I hope help comes soon. I don’t know how much longer we can hold out here. Something’s coming. I can feel it.

If anyone finds this, tell my family I love them.
